Womens Keeper League Rules

The Women's Keeper League 1 and the Rowdy Girls Keeper League the rules are as follows.
You can keep up to 3 players. You don't have to keep any of your prior rosters players but you can keep up to 3. Beginning in 2014 there will no longer be a limit on how long you can keep an individual player.
So the way the keepers affect your draft is one week before our draft, you need to have your keeper selections made within the league using the site's keeper tools. If you have a problem setting them you will need to be sure to get them into me and get my confirmation of receipt back. During the week before our draft is scheduled, when I have all your keepers, I go to the web site and look up each players average draft position to see what round drafts have them going in. Whatever round that is, that is the pick you will be giving up to keep your player. In my earlier example if Brady is going 21st overall then I'd probably be satisfied that I'd be giving up my 3rd round pick, No Matter What my actual position in the third round is. Whether on draft day I happen to fall in the beginning, middle or end of the third round is irrelevant when it comes to keepers. If you decide to keep a player whose average draft position is in the third round, you give up your third round pick for that player. Sometimes it works for you and sometimes it works against you. Only you know what that player is worth to you. How much risk do you want to take? Is Brady worth a 3rd round pick to me whether I'm going first or last? We'll see. The rule is that if you are keeping two players that fall in the same round, you lose that rounds pick and your next rounds pick for those two players.

Any Other WFFL Keeper leagues, including the, Women's Advanced League the rules are as follows.
You can keep up to 5 players. You don't have to keep any of your prior rosters players but you can keep up to 5. There are no restrictions on the length of a players contract. You can keep any player as long as you want, as long as the player is one of your keepers.

For new Managers coming in to a Keeper League
The draft is basically a worst to first snake draft. Therefore if you are taking over an existing team then you will be placed in the draft based on that teams finish from the prior year. You will also be able to select keepers based on the prior years roster of the team you are taking over.
If a new team is being added to the league, you will not have a roster and therefore no way to select keepers in your first year. In that case the draft order will be a worst to first snake draft with new managers in the first positions if they are not taking over an existing team. You can post your keepers or email them, either way. I'll post on the message board a few hours before the draft who the keepers are and what draft spots they are going in.
So good luck everybody and have a fun season. Also remember the more active you are on the message boards, the more fun you'll have during the season by interacting with your new friends and competitors. We are all here to share football news, rumors, a little mild smack talk, and to chat, joke and support each other.
Changes for 2014 and beyond:
Starting in 2014 the draft order will be worst record to first with new teams getting preferential placement to make up for having no top players as keepers, but if you are taking over a team you will be placed according to that teams prior years record.

Their will no longer be limits on how long you can keep a player.
